The Marketing Center Recognized For Its Growth
Awarded Special Proclamation by City Council Committee
The New Orleans Economic Development and Special Development Projects Committee recognized The Marketing Center for its help in rebuilding New Orleans “by developing and sustaining business growth and success.”
The Marketing Center is a New Orleans-based advertising and marketing agency that developed a nationwide network of 90 clients, from Maine to Alaska, all in the highly specialized field of Social Security Disability law. This year the agency celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Despite the recent recession, The Marketing Center has seen a 102% increase in revenue growth since 2005, the year of Hurricane Katrina. The agency’s employment growth increased 150% within the same period. The growth of the agency in both revenue and employment has helped the New Orleans economy and was instrumental in the awarding of the city proclamation.
“A Diligent Economic Developer”
According to City Council President Jackie Clarkson, “My fellow councilmembers and I feel that it is important to honor companies that are helping rebuild New Orleans to further encourage the trend of positive economic development in our city. The Marketing Center is a prime example of a company in New Orleans that fulfills a local need and brings companies from across the country into our community.”
Clarkson added, “A diligent economic developer and industry leader for New Orleans, The Marketing Center is truly passionate about bringing life back into the city of New Orleans.”
Serving as “Business Ambassadors” for New Orleans
“We’re delighted to have a positive impact on the economy of New Orleans, a special place we love so much,” said The Marketing Center President Nathan Chapman. “We strive to provide a great place for our talented team to work. And, when our clients fly in from all over the country for meetings or to shoot commercials utilizing local studio space and production crews, we try to serve as ‘business ambassadors’ for the city – encouraging our clients to take extra time to enjoy New Orleans’ world-class hotels, restaurants and shopping.”
Chapman added that the goal “is not only to enjoy what our city has to offer while supporting our businesses, but to go back to their city and tell friends and family about their wonderful trip to New Orleans.”
A Community-Oriented Team
“Of all the things of which I am proud, it is mostly of the 20 creative, dynamic people with whom I now have the privilege to work,” Chapman said. “They are passionate about the quality of our work, about providing the greatest results for our clients, about the privilege of calling New Orleans home and about making a difference in the community. "
The Marketing Center team is also active with several local charities. Members of the staff actively volunteer with St. Jude’s; American Cancer Society (ACS); Louisiana Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LASPCA); Music for Tomorrow; Project Lazarus; United Way; Louisiana Landmarks Society; and the Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents & Associates (VCPORA). Chapman served as president of VCPORA from 2002 to 2008.
The company is continuing with its expansion plans, actively recruiting talent to join its ranks in the coming months. Interested in joining The Marketing Center team? Visit our Careers page for more information.
